Most people know manuka honey as something you eat. So a manuka nasal spray raises an obvious question: what is it, and why would you put honey anywhere near your nose?

It is manuka, formulated for the nasal passages
A manuka nasal spray takes medical-grade manuka honey and puts it into a measured, ready-to-use mist designed for the nose and sinuses. You are not spooning jarred honey into your nostrils. It is a purpose-built format meant to support everyday nasal and sinus comfort and to help rinse away the allergens and irritants that build up during the day.
Why the format exists
Two reasons. First, a spoon of honey simply does not reach the nasal passages, so the jar cannot help here no matter how good it is. Second, making your own rinse at home is fussy and easy to get wrong. A shelf-stable spray gives you a consistent amount every time, without the kitchen chemistry.
What to look for
The same rule that applies to jars applies here: check the MGO number on the label, which tells you the grade of manuka inside. Decide whether you want an everyday option or an extra-strength one, and if it is for a child, choose a spray formulated for kids.

Set your expectations honestly
